Acupuncture

According to the Chinese philosophy our body's functioning is controlled by an energy field known as Qi. In a healthy state the Qi flows smoothly through channels beneath the skin called meridians. Qi has two equal and opposite qualities - Yin and Yang - and when these get out of balance, illness may result. In acupuncture treatment, very fine needles are inserted into the channels of energy in order to stimulate the body's own healing response and restore its natural balance. The flow of Qi can be disturbed by a number of factors such as diet, toxicity, hereditary factors, emotional shock and physical or mental trauma, anxiety and grief, fear and insecurity, infections and endocrine disorders. Therefore the acupuncture can be useful in treating a range of problems from acute colds to long term hormonal imbalance, from menstrual disorders to fertility and menopause.
