There are two types of dock levellers: swing-lip and telescopic lip. With a swing-lip leveller the loading flap is a fixed length (usually 450-500 mm) which swings out as the leveller is raised and then as it drops, settles into the back of the truck.
With a telescopic lip leveller, the lip extends out horizontally allowing you to adjust how far the lip engages into the truck and with lip lengths of up to 1m, can accommodate a greater variation of heights.
You need to ensure that the gradient of the leveller, sitting on the back of the truck is less than 7°.
Chase Equipment Ltd manufactures any size of leveller with capacities of up to 15 tons. Our levellers are of very robust construction to ensure they are reliable throughout their lifetimes, giving a high uptime.
We also work with customers to provide replacement levellers to address changes in vehicles used or loading methods, whilst utilising existing civils.
Dock levellers can also be supplied in selfstanding modules thus avoiding the need to create a pit in the concrete.
