Description
The word 'Gebbeh' literaly means 'freestyle' in Farsi, and these nomadic carpets are just that. Originally woven for use by the tribal people of the southern Fars region of Iran, these Gebbeh rugs convey a wonderful simplicity of life and the innocence of an uncommercialised art form that draws its infulence from the nomadic lifestyle.
Gebbeh rugs are also made from some of the best wool possible, as the vast heards of the Qashgai tribal folk are used to extreme altitudes and cold temperatures. And as rug to live on, these are amongst the thickest and heaviest rugs available and are capable of outlasting generations in wear.
