Family Holidays in The Middle East

Obviously there have been political demonstrations across the region. As a responsible tour operator we are led by The Foreign Office's advice, as they are closest to the situation, and we never sell or send people to destinations where it is not recommended to travel.

Currently all our trips are running as normal and a point for consideration is that as there are a reduced number of travellers in the region at the moment, traditional honey pot destinations such as Petra and The Pyramids are a lot quieter.

While the closest some package holiday trips get to historical discovery is an afternoon in the local castle, family Middle East tours bring culture and history to life for little ones. Children have long been fascinated by the life and times of the boy king Tutankhamen and heading to Egypt to see the pyramids and view artefacts in Cairo's Egypt Museum is a great way for them to learn more. Fewer kids may have heard about Petra than the pyramids, but that makes it no less exciting - the looks on their faces as they look at the giant rock-cut structures in Jordan's ancient city will say it all.

As you may expect, both countries get pretty hot at the height of summer - so ensure kids use plenty of sun cream and drink lots of water. Being sensible and assessing youngsters' abilities is the key to a safe trip. From camel rides and visits to the Valley of the Kings to boat trips up the River Nile, kids will barely have time to stop for breath on their Middle East family adventure holidays.
