ER309L - is austenitic stainless steel type material with low carbon content for welding of stainless steel to carbon steel. Low carbon content reduces the possibility of intergranular carbide precipitation. ER309L is preferred over ER309 for cladding over carbon or low alloy steels, or dissimilar joints that are heat treated.
Ideal for welding of types 304, 304L, dissimilar metals (mild and alloyed steel to stainless steels), build-up welding on mild and low alloyed steel.
Is recommended for such applications as: annealing chambers, heat exchangers, industrial furnace and boiler parts.
